Accessibility Statement

Our patients are often older adults and family caregivers. A website that is hard to read or navigate is not a small problem, so accessibility is part of how we build.

Our commitment

This website is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we aim for Level AA under WCAG 2.2 as the guidelines develop. We test for keyboard access, screen reader structure, colour contrast, text resizing and reduced-motion preferences.

What we have done on this site

  • Body text set at 18px or larger with generous line spacing, and layouts that stay usable when text is enlarged to 200%.
  • A "Skip to main content" link as the first thing you reach when you press Tab.
  • Keyboard access to every link, button and form field, with a clearly visible focus outline throughout.
  • Text and background colours checked against WCAG AA contrast requirements (4.5:1 for body text).
  • Colour is never the only way information is conveyed — labels and text carry the meaning too.
  • A single H1 on every page, headings in a logical order, and landmark regions for header, navigation, main content and footer.
  • Real form labels, helpful hints, inline error messages and no time limits on any form.
  • Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images, and empty alt text for decorative ones.
  • Motion respected: animations are reduced or removed when your device asks for reduced motion.

Known limitations

[LIST ANYTHING YOU KNOW IS NOT FULLY ACCESSIBLE YET — for example, a third-party map or an embedded document — and what you are doing about it]

Our embedded maps come from a third party, Google Maps. Every page with a map also lists the full address in text and offers a “Get directions” link you can use without the map.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on this website stops you from getting the information you need, please tell us so we can fix it — and so we can give you the information another way in the meantime.

Free alternative formats and language assistance are available — see our [LINK TO /nondiscrimination] notice.
